Who We Are
The CHATT Foundation clothing program offers free weekly clothing and monthly shoes for homeless participants. The thrift store also provides household goods for clients who are moving into permanent supportive housing. The design of our thrift store is not to make money, but to empower participants with the ability to make choices and encourage dignity.
What We Do
Thrift Store
Ideal Volunteer: Individuals or groups willing to clean, assist our homeless participants with shopping, and help Thrift Store staff with organizing and daily operations.
Volunteers should expect to interact with our homeless participants. Volunteers are encouraged to independently stock items and make decisions for best organization. Volunteers should expect to walk up and down stairs to access items from the basement.
Warehouse
Ideal Volunteer: Strong individuals or groups willing to handle donations, organize, sort, and, when appropriate operate necessary machinery.
Volunteers should expect to be in our basement for the majority of their shifts. Volunteers are expected to be flexible for incoming large donations/deliveries, special projects, and changing duties. Volunteers must be able to lift, squat, bend, and be on their feet for extended periods of time. Volunteers should expect heavy lifting to be involved.
